Our nannies are professional and qualified childcarers, who are fully invested in a child's development and well-being. Generally, a nanny will care for children either full-time or part-time within the family's home. It's a nanny's responsibility to create daily schedules and engage in activities to ensure healthy mental, physical and emotional growth in the children they care for. Most nannies will also prepare meals, helping with household work (dishes, laundry, etc.), drive the children to and from activities/school and assist with homework.
Many nannies have their own place of residence (and are called live-out nannies), but there are some nannies who live with the family (called live-in nannies). Nannies normally earn a weekly salary (based on hourly expectations), and have national insurance & taxes deducted from their paychecks and work year-round for a family. It's expected that nannies receive at least two weeks paid hoilday. Current expected rates of pay are in the region of £8.00 net upwards(nannies with more experience expect more).
But there's is help for parents, with schemes such as government backed Childcare vouchers( for Childern up to the age of 15) saving over £1,000 on their yearly childcare costs.
It is normal for the parents to arrange for payment of tax & national insurance for the nanny, as well as getting a full contract of employment written-up & put in place.
